I was a bit peeved that DivX Tool (an OS X program that purports to fix corrupt and truncated DivX AVIs) couldn't fix some busted files I need to view. The Windows program DivFix did the job, But it was a pain to move the big files over to the PC every time a download had an slight error.
When I saw a hint on MacOSXhints.com about running the DivFix perl script on OS X, I gave it a shot and it worked fine. I wanted to try out Platypus, a great script "wrapping" application for OS X. Using that together with CocoaDialog I was able to whip up a simple GUI for repairing busted DivX files.
Note that it's pretty rudimentary and won't give you any error information if it can't fix your file, but it's easy to use and probably worth a shot. Download here.
In other news, applying to medical school is the least pleasant experience of my entire life. Yes. It's worse than high school gym. That's right. I went there.
